I’d like to present the most chaotic moment in my fic so far—

“The replacement’s expression was unreadable, so Jason didn’t even bother looking; instead he turned down to the menu and picked it up.

The booth was silent, the tension almost palpable as the other two followed suit.

Jason did it to stop his hands from shaking. He was pretty sure Dick just wanted to hide his face.

‘Dick drove me here,” Tim blurted out. ‘Probably for the best—I really wanted to crash the car.’”

This needs so much more context, but I digress 😭

Writing Log: May 2024

This was a busy month in unusual ways, not that I'm complaining. I didn't write for nearly half the month, but it looks like I was pretty productive on the days I did write!

(this is also part of the story) how the story changes [JJK, goyuu, just as the PR ensnares Gojou, canon!Yuuji switches places with his older self from an alternate dimension where he’s Gojou’s teacher]: 34,253

My total word count for JJK is now 906,612. Shibuya Swap is two chapters away from completion. I am also less than 100k away from one million words for JJK, but whether I'll get to that milestone depends so much on the upcoming manga chapters. I am this close to being disheartened by the whole thing, and while I'll definitely see the manga through to the end, the level of investment and affection required to write for it is another matter.

Speaking of milestones—the plot bunny count has reached 100 (help me). This doc lists all my unwritten ideas, but here are the new ones:

Gojou/Yuuji and Yuuji/Yuuta: Post-261 AU where Yuuji fucks Yuuta in Gojou’s body out of a mixture of grief and desperation, and Gojou’s soul responds in fits and starts. It develops into a body-share situation of sorts.

Gojou/Yuuji, Getou/Yuuji, and Getou/Gojou: Instead of killing Getou in 2017, Gojou saves him and keeps him imprisoned in hopes he’ll change his mind/ways. When Yuuji’s playing dead, Gojou introduces him to Getou in hopes that the non-sorcerer who became Sukuna’s vessel will give Getou some much-needed perspective. It works out in odd ways.

Gojou/Yuuji: No-Shibuya Incident AU where an adult Yuuji tries to address how Gojou seems to be dehumanized and weaponized by jujutsu society as a whole, and Gojou’s cavalier response opens the path to a whole other kind of objectification.

Gojou/Yuuji: Early 20-something Satoru meets an older man who takes liberties with his person and name, and the night only gets wilder and weirder from there.

7th January - 505 words. Worked On: NaNo24 - 2 Favourite Line: IN THE FEELINGS SHELLY

Shelly paused and sniffed again, rubbing her eyes. When she spoke she sounded sad. “I guess that’s another reason why my ex never wanted to marry me - I’m not really housewife material…”

Well, work was productive, so that's nice. I got the Animal Crossing Celeste lego after work, which was neat. And tomorrow's my day off!

I didn't record my progress regarding my WIPs in October, November, or December. I didn't write that much, but I worked a lot, had a lot to do following my Mum's passing, and adopted two kittens.

I still manage to keep my streak of writing at least 100 words every day—I started it on November 1st, 2023!

I still recorded my words each day so here are those at least :

October: 9572 words

November: 7653 words (my worst month of the year!)

December: 11540 words

Which gives us these yearly stats :

You can see I started working more in March... April being an anomaly (I had holidays, too) and my mother's health started deteriorating in May.

For 2025, my main objectives are :

Keep writing 100 words a day

Find a writing routine

Keep tracking my WIP but with a lighter system (I'll post the new spreadsheet when it's done)

Commit to a longer fic

2024 Year in Review

Surprise! I'm not dead!

Despite my lack in updates on here, I have still been keeping up with my writing log, and even though technically 2024 isn't over just yet, I don't plan on writing anything today so I don't feel bad calling it a handful of hours early. So, without further ado, here's a graph:

This year was like...physical therapy almost. My writing muscles were atrophied from disuse and I had to work at getting them back into shape. Some days were better than others; some days I felt like I could write forever and only the need to sleep would stop me. Other days, I stared at a blank document wondering if there was a point to any of this.

Back when I was a teenager, the first time I did NaNoWriMo I accomplished the goal of writing 50k in a month. It was a challenge, to be sure, but I also remember being able to do it without really stressing or thinking about it too hard. I would do whatever I could to get my word goal met for the day. I also removed every goddamn contraction that I could just to get those few extra words in, but still. I wrote fifty thousand words! In a month! That's insane!

Now, obviously, this is vastly different. In a year, I managed to get a little over sixty thousand. I can't help but compare the two situations, but I know that overall I'm still incredibly proud of what I managed to accomplish. Again, this is me trying to get back into doing the thing that used to consume my every waking moment when I was younger. I just wanted to learn to love writing again, and I think I made good progress on that. I hope that with this coming year I'm able to do even better, or at least still maintain my love for writing.

I think one of the things that helped me the most was getting back into text roleplay with friends. Having someone to bounce off of gave me material to work with and allowed me to flex those muscles without also having to come up with plot entirely on my own. In fact, a vast majority of my word count comes from various roleplay threads! I would like to work more on individual stuff this next year, but I also don't plan to neglect said roleplays because they're a source of great fun and inspiration for me.

I don't want to drone on too long about this, but I will give some more fun stats just in case anyone is curious!

On average, I wrote:

1,223 words per week

173 words per day

The most words I wrote in a single day was 1,870 on November 14th.

November was also the month with the highest word count at 12,012.

Out of 366 days (on account of it being a leap year) I wrote something on 160 days, approximately 43.8% of the year.

To everyone who followed this journey, who offered encouragement, who wrote with me, and everything in between, thank you again. I hope you'll continue to be interested, and I will try and include a goal to actually share some of my writing this year with you all.

No promises, because I'm terrified of criticism still, but we'll see!

I've officially finished the first chapter of the first draft. This may look like a really small step, but it feels big for me. I've had other writing projects before but other than the occasional wattpad fic during the pandemic I've never made this much progress in something I really genuinely enjoyed :,)

Update on I’m Lying to You Cause I’m Lost rewrite!

So far, I’m over 13000 words in. Things are…going. (Yeah I’ll go with that)

I’ve just written one of my favourite scenes so far, which is both confidence inducing and TERRIFYING because now I’ve gotta keep racking up the tension (save me), but things are finally chugging along!

Favourite lines so far:

“maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was the clearest thought Jason had had in years”

“But Jason hadn’t had a man in mind when he wrote”

And of course:

“Jason pulled out all the stops and repeated the word, “slow.”

“ Was not.” [Tim responded]

Ive been feeling a little uninspired (aka hi shitty mental health its time u got the fuck out!! kindly) to write lately but i said i would post a new chapter today AND I WANT TO DELIVER, so.

Since the chapter im working on is naruto being all poetic and shit about his love for sasuke I'm gonna be rewatching all the openings and endings to see if anything strikes a sasunaru chord in my heart.

This is actually a lot more than I was expecting. I was under the impression that I didn't write as much in 2024 as I had in 2023—and I didn't, but it's only a 52k difference (540k in 2024 vs 592k in 2023), which is far lower than predicted. I'm still very much in the JJK sauce, huh?

Carrying that over to 2025. No clue what the rest of the year will bring, but I'll be here making Yuuji fuck older men for as long as my brain lets me. The Bleach and MCU backlogs have also survived into 2025, mostly because several months ended up being JJK-only; neither should last past this year though. I'm making an effort to reduce my JJK backlog too, but that will definitely need a couple more years to clear. Welp.

The fic-wise split of the word count can be found under the cut. The fics described have goyuu, sukuita, nanaita, itaokko, and itagofushi scenarios, plus a few other referenced ones.

It's been half a year since I sent my book to my beta readers. Tomorrow, I will work on the feedback-fueled editing 💪

It's been a wild time. Ever since I sent the thing, I drafted the next novel, a short story, and a novella. Some people never got back to me. One told me, upon me asking them about it, that they quit at some point because they found it's not their genre (which would have been nice to be told without asking but maybe that's just me). Others went through stress, covid, depression before they even touched the file

But now, I got one full feedback and two to follow very soon. I have honed my skills, got some highly valuable criticism, and now it's time to make this thing great, to make it ready for a wider audience 💪
